I used my pasta machine to blend the colors. Step 3: Creating the Base Slab We recommend using a tissue blade to create uneven strips. Then, cut those strips into smaller, irregular chunks of clay. Remember to separate the clay chunks as much as possible to ensure proper application of ink. Now, it's time to bring out your alcohol ink. Begin by adding white ink to each clay chunk and allow it to dry completely. Once the white ink is dry, apply brown alcohol ink to the clay and let it dry once again. To enhance the visual effect, add another layer of white ink on top of the brown inked clay and let it dry thoroughly. Once all the ink is fully dry, take your clay and mold it into a square slab. To achieve precise square shapes, employing a piece of acrylic as a guide can be helpful. Step 4: Shaping and Cutting Now, it's time to create even-sized squares from the clay. Take a moment to cut out the squares, ensuring they are uniform in size. Once all the squares are ready, line them up in a row to form your faux-stone slab. To further refine the slab, take your acrylic roller and begin rolling the clay, gradually thinning it to approximately 3mm thickness.
